Dear my beloved colleagues,
What we are currently dealing with are “HISTORICAL MOMENTS WHEN THE FUTURE CHANGES DIRECTION”
(Matthias Horx – Futurologist from Germany)
The pandemic has caused us anxiety, confusion and losses. All the ordinary things in our life now suddenly become impossible to do: hugging a loved one, going to public places, having fun and be entertained, travelling and last but not least, going to the Golden office every day for work.
“When will this pandemic end and when will life be normal again?” you may ask. Yet, nobody holds the true answer to such question and we can only know one thing for sure that this breakout has changed our lives now and forever. We have learnt to live more slowly, to treasure the small simple things like having lunch with friends, going to work, wandering on the streets, shouting at each other or even having intense debates without the fear of spreading any virus. The virus has made people less aggressive, less greedy and make people live simpler. Thanks to that, mother Earth is finally recovering after long years of being hurt. Rivers have been purer and cleaner. Photochemical smog is no longer seen from industrial factories in Italy and China. In 2020, for the first time in years, human CO2 emission has seen decline.
The pandemic has made technology more helpful and has made us learn how to work online efficiently and be more responsible for our actions. We have learnt to work from home (WFH) without being distracted, to protect ourselves and the community as well. No matter what happens, we have to do our best, in the safest way, for both ourselves and our clients.
There will be rules that need to be strictly followed regarding our safety, including wearing face masks at all times, washing hands frequently, not congregating in crowded places, eating lunch in a proximity of no more than 4 people, alternatively taking turn going to work and sharing difficulties between colleagues and the company.
All of us have no prior experience when facing this war against the virus. We only have to remember that with the values Golden is preserving as a collective effort, the Board of Directors (BOD) is determined not to let anyone be alone in this fight against the virus, not to let anyone be starving and desperate. Together, we will survive through these unprecedented times with love, sharing and responsibility.
No storm lasts forever and the sun will shine peacefully once more. I wish to end by citing Matthias Horx, a German futurologist. Matthias Horx (2020) said:
In the middle of the shutdown of civilization we walk through forests or parks, or over almost empty places. But this is not an apocalypse, it’s a new beginning. The coming world will again appreciate distance – and precisely because of this will make connectedness more qualitative. Autonomy and dependence, opening and closing, will be re-balanced. This can make the world more complex, but at the same time more stable. This transformation is largely a blind evolutionary process – because the one fails, the new, viable, prevails.
System reset.
Cool down!
Music on the balconies!
This is how the future works.
I wish you safety and all the best.
Love and appreciate.
Nguyen Minh Huong.
